At least two other bloggers have made the paradigm shift that I did on October 25th, 2007.
For me, the fun had been squeezed out of blogging.
I was tired of adhering to the rules.
I couldn’t add anything to the Internet Marketing Conversation.
So, I stopped trying.
Bobby Revell talks about the Saturation Point of Blogging.
He laments the fact that everyone is following the big blogging lie.
He points this out, stating:
Making money with a blog is based on your ability to sell…period…that’s all there is to it. The only reason the big money bloggers make big money is because they have convinced you…or sold you on the fact that they have the answers.
Caroline Middlebrook wonders How to Blog When Your Work Loses its Meaning.
For her, it took a very personal crisis to jar her thinking loose.
Given Caroline’s prolific, high-quality output, her readers were probably shocked by this pronouncement:
However, one thing that has not changed since then is that my perspectives on work, life and the relative importance of all the things that life involves have permanently changed.
There may come a time in your own experience when you will sit up and take notice.
I’m not saying that you won’t be able to duplicate the successes of some of the big blogs.
I applaud the effort that authority bloggers invest in their craft.
I enjoy the information and incorporate relevant bits into my own blog.
What I’m alluding to is the fact that you really need to be enjoying what you do and, if it leads to financial rewards, great.
Of course, you can’t just randomly walk any path, hoping success follows you.
Have a plan, but don’t count on the old tactics working.
In fact, don’t think in terms of tactics.
This ain’t no battle between marketers and consumers.
It should be a lovefest.
