Do You Remember the Ambient Orb Blog Index?

I used to rank number one on Google for this keyword phrase – I wonder why!
On my first blog, I kept a links post titled The Ambient Orb Blog Index.
It had a list of all my posts, color-coded and listed chronologically.

Thanks to a WordPress page template written by Guilherme Zühlke O’Connor, my current blog has a nifty category-based archive.

Gui, as he is affectionately known, also wrote a comprehensive tutorial!

Just for fun, I decided to list a dozen of my favorite posts, in the style of the original Ambient Orb Blog Index.

Legend

  • Blue: Personal
  • Red: Creative Writing, Challenges, Games, Silliness
  • Green: News, Blogging, Technical, Indexes
  • Gold: The “Zoo”
  • Black: Networking
  • Gray: Super Networks

In a moment of sheer, unadulterated self-indulgence, I recreated the original Ambient Orb Blog Index.

Who knows, maybe someone from the good ol’ days will do a nostalgic Google search.

I’ve certainly stuffed the keyword ambient orb blog index often enough into the post.

Check out the Ambient Orb. It uses the old pager antenna network to receive data about weather, traffic, stocks and now, Search Engine keyword rankings!

  1. Hi Sharon,

Those were the good old days!

You should do yours! Did you keep your posts? Many of them are still helpful today! I suppose we can find them on your other sites, but it sure would be cool to see them all in one place.

    Cheers,

    Mitch

  2. I think I’ve got most of mine. All the writing ones went onto Get Paid To Write Online. The poetry went to a Blogger blog, which I don’t update that much. Any of the decent sponsored posts went to bimblogger.wordpress.com minus the links. The WU specific ones are in a backup file somewhere (with the original dates). I could do a list someday, but I’m not sure when.

  3. Hi Michael!

How about that! I had a dresser drawer full of components when I was a kid. A schoolmate taught me the resistor codes and I remember how tough it was to keep those bands straight.
Thanks for stopping by and dropping a happy bit of nostalgia on me. :)

    Cheers,

    Mitch

    • Hello again, Twitter Designs!

I always get a kick out of long-tail keywords, though there is not much use for this one :)
The credit for the tutorials go to the authors. I just linked to them.

      Good luck!

      Cheers,

      Mitch
