Launch Time at the Blue Morpho

If you have been following my sporadic updates on Twitter and Facebook, you may have seen me babbling about my new baby, ParserMonster. It’s a Windows program that rips through documents, pulling out tidbits of information and reorganizing it into useful reports. That’s a bit like saying my mini-van lets me drive to the mall. But, this isn’t about the product; it’s about the things I’m doing to get it into the hands of the people who need it.

Creating a product is one thing; launching it is another matter entirely. The most important thing I’ve learned is that it is too much for one person to do alone. I have an informal support system of fantastic people who are helping to bring ParserMonster to life.

While I do a lot of my own writing, I am not a copywriter. Sharon Hurley Hall and her partners take care of that. Jessica Sellers of Chrysalis Logos has been awesome for graphic design. Dave Navarro, the Launch Coach, is a recent addition to the support system. His newsletter and workbooks are refreshingly helpful and chock-full of strategies for launching products.

Of the three, Dave is the only one who doesn’t know me, except as a name on his email list. Sharon and Jessica are dear friends, whom I’ve known for nearly five years. We’ve kept in touch through social media and have helped each other in various capacities. It’s natural for me to turn to them for their professional services. I’ve written about Sharon (see Linkable Ladies, under Get Paid to Write) and Jessica (see interview Chrysalis Logos. It’s Dave’s turn :) .

Although I don’t know Dave personally, I can say this much: he passes the B.S. litmus test. I’ve wasted so much time reading guru-style hype that I can smell it as it’s being typed! Needless to say, I don’t subscribe to many newsletters. I stumbled upon Dave’s The Launch Coach while researching e-junkie.com. He had a helpful tutorial there that made me feel a bit better about choosing them for selling ParserMonster and related products. He has a sticky website, which means that I wound up checking out quite a few posts, in addition to signing up for his workbooks and newsletter. His latest workbook: How To Start Making Real Money With Your Products in 3 Days arrived in my inbox today.

I love the way Dave writes! His comment about Swiss Army Knives was dead-on. I had the same problem before deciding to launch Morpho Board last year: spending too much time cramming features into the software. This delays things horribly. It’s nice to have someone point this out to me in plain English.

This support system makes it possible for me to focus on product creation. Sharon and Jessica will be getting a ton of work from me. Dave will have access to my in-box for a long time! I will give each of them as much support as possible.

  1. Congratulations Mitch! I’m excited to hear about the product launch and I wish you the best. I’ve been following Sharon since we were first introduced to each other through your site. She’s a dynamite person to have on your team. I’ll follow the links to Jessica and Dave to find out more about them. Thanks for the update.

    • Thanks, Ileane! As is often said, I couldn’t do it without them.
I’d love to know what you think of Jessica and Dave.

      Cheers,

      Mitch

  2. Good for you Mitch, I didn’t know you were on a product launch, soon. Sounds promising. Good to know you have a strong team to back you up. Wish you all the best and success awaits you.

    • Hi Ching Ya,

Thank you so much! Yes, I’ve been programming too much to focus on publicity. I’m not a big fan of “vaporware”, where we talk on and on about something that isn’t ready yet.

But I do mention it from time to time.
The team is awesome! Some details really need TLC from professionals.

      Cheers,

      Mitch
